Himalayan Sunrise’s Colourful Journey
[ please contact for us the detailed itinerary ] This off-the-beaten-track trip is for flexible people who are interested in an authentic introduction to some of the fantastic handicrafts of Nepal, particularly those of the women. It is a unique, small group tour that begins and ends in Kathmandu but most of our time is spent in Eastern Nepal. The journey is ideal for people who would not usually contemplate a “group” tour as the emphasis is on a shared experience rather than a heavily guided one! In fascinating locations, we’ll see exquisite handicrafts being made, meet the talented creators in their own environments and explore some favourite sources of inspiration and supplies.
Special highlights unique to Himalayan Sunrise include cooking classes and a lesson where group members make their own piece of polymer jewellery under the skilful guidance of some of the artists at Samunnat Nepal, Birtamod. It’s worth noting that in the east, access to internet and phone is sometimes difficult. While this is not a trek, some days will include a few hours of walking and the fitter you are, the more you will enjoy it. Our next fixed departure for the Colourful Journey leaves on 20th November. This is now full but contact us to find out details about our 2012 departures. Total days: 14 Trip includes domestic airfares, vehicle, food and accommodation costs, cooking demonstration and polymer clay class.
This journey will be Starting on November 2012
